Alcoholic fermentation for 16-19 days is followed by a period of 8 months in steel tanks. Then begins the maturation in Slavonian oak barrels for 3 years. Follows ageing in bottles for 6 months before sale.
Excellent wine for ageing in bottle.
Intense colour with deep garnet hues changing to dark orange on ageing are the assurance of great richness and powerful structure of this wine. Broad, elegant and lingering spicy bouquet with hints of tobacco and red fruits jam. Its notable harmony and balance are enhanced by tannins that soften to sweetness. Very intense and long-lasting aroma typical of great, long-aging wines.
Best served at 18°C in large from a carafe, it is excellent with braised meats, ideal with ripe cheeses and salami, as well as courses with truffles.
